Summer Programs

It’s a great place for your primary-preschool children ages 3-7 years and toddlers 12 months – 3 years to experience the joys of summer!

Primary Summer Program

This delightful, eight-week summer program for preschool children is organized into four, two-week sessions. The traditional morning work cycle of Montessori lessons is observed and a garden is available for nature study, reading, and outdoor work.

Throughout the day there are choices in a variety of areas: nature study, arts and crafts, stories, poetry, cooking, gardening, creative movement, games, and music.

Each class of the summer childcare program is staffed by an experienced teacher and an assistant. A snack is available in both morning and afternoon sessions. Full-day students will bring a lunch. Of course, a nap/rest period is provided according to individual need.

Toddler Summer Program

Our summer program for toddlers provides eight weeks of nature study, gardening, movement, painting and clay, stories, cooking and food preparation. Music and outdoor play are offered for the very young.

The Toddler Community staff will be present throughout the day, with nap and outdoor time according to the regular Toddler Community schedule for continuity.

There will be the opportunity to paint, work and play in the water, set the table, learn songs and poems, and generally become aware and increasingly skilled in the use of the toilet and in self-care.

Toddler Summer Program Ages: 12 months or securely walking to two-and-a-half or three years, and currently enrolled at Northwoods.
Class size is limited to 12.
