//Perro? Gato?

Perro? Gato?

Angela reads about the animals in the pet store.

In Spanish Class the children listened to Angela read about a pet store.

Making noises and talking about the animals.

The children talked with Angela about animals and practiced making some of the noises. Now, they know that someone in the group has a new dog! How could we have missed that valuable information?

There was some giggling as we colored different pets and talked about their names and about the New Dog. “What’s her name?” ” What color is she?”

Another name for an animal makes us think again about what makes it a dog, “perro”, or a cat, “gato.”  Which one would you like best?  Why might it be helpful to link an experience at home to this new vocabulary?
