Northwoods Alumni Enhance Our School Garden

Observe the busy bees, the beauty of the humming birds, moths, butterflies and the change of seasons from our new garden benches! In mid September, Max Brown (class of 2013) and members of his scout troop, including Northwoods alumni Ethan Hudock (Class of 2017), and Will Tate, installed three hand-crafted benches and planted lovely perennials in our front garden.

For several months, Max has been preparing for this day. He conceived of, planned for, and directed the project. After he carefully built the benches, he and his scout troop painted them, and prepared the soil for new plants – varieties of hostas, heucheras, ferns and elephant ears. Upon completion, the troop took a moment to admire their collaborative work and wonderful gift to Northwoods. Max, we are grateful to you, to your troop and to your parents. We will enjoy the garden space for many years to come!
