Happy Birthday, United Nations!  Yesterday, our 9-12 class invited us to participate in a birthday observance and learn more about the United Nations, UNICEF and the Rights of the Child.

Then, we gathered to sing, "Teaching Peace."

A living statues presentation told the story of the birth of the United Nations.

Then, we were taught a rice-planting fan dance.

Then, we were taught a  Japanese rice-planting dance with hand-made fans.

It was a solemn. Occasion.  We all liked it.  Then, we were invited to dance all the way back to our classrooms!
