It's the kind of Montessori school kids can't wait to see in the morning.
“Northwoods Montessori has been the best start to our son’s education. The environment was warm and friendly from start to finish" - Vicki Johnson

Toddler Community (ages 12 months - 3 years)
An active learning environment
This is an environment of active learning and social engagement, a community of peers. We work to foster basic motor coordination, independence, language development, and a respect for individual personalities.
We encourage your toddler's natural drive to be independent.
The Northwoods Montessori Toddler Community (ages 12 months - 3 years) provides a nurturing environment for toddlers to experience their first contact with other children, learning to participate in a cooperative group. We focus on the things that make up a child's long-term intelligence, culture, language, and social interaction.

Let us show you what we're talking about!
Rather than guided group tours of the classrooms, we favor a more intimate, individualized approach. Observation is central to a Montessori education and is the perfect introduction for the inquiring parent. Questions often come to mind during this experience, and we can't wait to answer them!
"Northwoods Montessori is one of the best things that has happened to my life. The positive impact of the teachers, administration, and overall learning environment has helped to shape me into the person I am today. If one wanted to experience the sensation of true community love, one need only step foot into Northwoods Montessori School.”
Zanetta Harris, class of 1998
Over 45 Years of History
Northwoods Montessori was one of the first Montessori schools in the greater Atlanta area, and originally opened in Decatur in 1972, as the Montessori World of Children. In the fall of 2012, Northwoods consolidated its operations at the Doraville campus. From the beginning, our founders have focused on integrating students of diverse backgrounds and on delivering a “pure” Montessori experience.
No school in Atlanta provides a greater educational value.
At Northwoods, we are neither the most expensive school, nor the least. But we really believe — as do decades of very satisfied parents — that no school in Atlanta provides a greater educational value. Talk to our parents, teachers, and alumni and you’ll see what we mean.
